7 BSIT students in AI Hackathon; 3 winners

Seven BSIT students participate in Cloudstaff’s AI Hackathon; three earn awards Mr. Deneil D. Datu, RCC BSIT 2 Seven students from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program of Republic Central Colleges (RCC) participated in Cloudstaff’s two-day AI Hackathon 2025, themed “AI Ignite – Build. Connect. Innovate,” held on November 24–25 at the Teresa Function Hall. Clouie D. Lazatin, a fourth-year BSIT student, was part of Team Mic-Stand, which emerged as Champion of AI Hackathon 2025. Deneil Datu, a second-year BSIT student, was part of Team Adarna, which secured the 2nd Runner-Up position. Russel Guntang, a third-year BSIT student, was a member of Team 1,2 Punch!, which received the Best Student Contribution Award for demonstrating outstanding participation and impact. The RCC delegation included seven BSIT students: Deneil Datu (2nd year), Mico Deguito (2nd year), Russel Guntang (3rd year), Raven Pangilinan (3rd year), Jhon Batuaan (3rd year), Gerwin Cando (4th year), and Clouie Lazatin (4th year). The hackathon brought together Cloudstaff development teams and technology students from City College of Angeles, Holy Angel University, RCC, and Systems Plus College Foundation. Participants collaborated to design and build intelligent solutions centered on the challenge “Code for Crisis: Empowering Communities When It Matters Most,” focusing on technologies for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Cloudstaff formed mixed teams ahead of the event, each composed of four to seven Cloudstaff developers and three to four students from different participating schools.   To prepare participants, Cloudstaff conducted an online AI Workshop and Training on November 14, where students were introduced to automation platform n8n and AI application builder Dify, equipping them with essential tools before the competition.
